How can one become a member?

To become a member of this prestigious association, any person associated with the line is eligible to apply. Anyone who supports the purposes of IFCA and has been working towards them, is eligible for membership. In order to become a member, a person must register for the Financial Cryptography conference. An appropriate registration fee and annual membership is charged, that covers the registration for the event along with the membership. The membership is considered valid for one year, following which it needs to be renewed.

What are the rules and regulations of IFCA?

Financial cryptography is a critical stream of work, and members are expected to follow high code of ethics, rules and regulations. Any serious deviations are strictly dealt with. The following rules are applicable to the members of the association.

  • Members have the validity of participating in IFCA events for one year only. Following this, they need to renew memberships.
  • Decisions at the IFCA are made by the Board of Directors (or their proxies). A majority vote is usually considered for taking a decision by the Board. Such a majority is called a quorum.
  • The Board are usually meets once a year for the Annual General Meeting. If deemed necessary, the Board may choose to call additional meetings as well. Minutes of all meetings conducted, are made available to the members.
  • Members are required to follow proper conduct and align their work ethics with those of the Board.
  • Any member who is found engaging in an activity which is inconsistent with the mission and purposes of the IFCA can be expelled by a two-thirds vote of the full Board.
  • Any member under investigation also has the right to defend himself or herself before the Board takes a vote.
  • All proceedings and documentation at the IFCA are confidential, and the member’s privacy will not be violated, until the member himself/herself, chooses to make the information public. Expelled members can be reinstated through a majority vote taken up by the Board.
  • Additional guidelines or amendments to existing guidelines can also be proposed from time to time by the Board of Directors. These guidelines could be about the roles and responsibilities being taken up by the various management officials.
  • The process of amending guidelines will usually require a majority vote of the members.
